Sender IDs
Sender IDs are custom names or numbers that appear as the sender of your SMS messages. They help you identify your messages and enhance your brand recognition. SSDPortal allows you to request and use sender IDs to personalize your SMS communications.
Cost and Setup
Setting up a sender ID on SSDPortal requires a one-time fee of 120 USD. This fee covers the processes involved in activating your sender ID with Zain, MTN and Digitel.
Sender ID Format
The format of your sender ID will depend on your chosen mobile network operator. Here are the typical formats for the major networks in South Sudan:
Zain: Alphanumeric (e.g., “YourBrand”) MTN: Alphanumeric (e.g., “YourBrand”) Digitel: Alphanumeric (e.g., “YourBrand”)
Please note that the specific formatting requirements may vary, so if uncertain, it’s essential to consult with our support team for the most accurate information.

Approval Process
The approval of your sender ID is subject to the discretion of the National Communications Authority (NCA). They have the final say in determining whether your chosen sender ID is acceptable and complies with their regulations. The approval process may take some time, so please plan accordingly.
Important Note: Once your sender ID is approved, you can start using it to send SMS messages through SSDPortal. However, please ensure that you adhere to the NCA’s guidelines and regulations regarding sender ID usage to avoid any penalties or restrictions.
